Dear Westwood Members,
As Westwood Country Club approaches its 70th anniversary, we are incredibly
proud of our lively community and the increasing enjoyment everyone
experiences at our club. With more families using our facilities than ever before,
we recognize the need to update and enhance our spaces to meet members’
evolving needs and preferences.
To that end, we are excited to share our plans for a refresh of our main dining
room and the adjacent second-floor spaces. We aim to create welcoming areas
that improve members’ daily club experience, enhance your food and beverage
options, and make room for even more memorable events at our club.
The capital improvement project directly responds to member feedback, as
upgrading our dining facilities has been one of the top requests. Westwood’s
food and beverage consultant, MML, and their design partner, LMD, will lead the
design for the project, continuing its exclusive partnership with our club to
elevate the overall dining experience.
The project’s design phase will continue until December 15. We’re excited to
share the following opportunities for member input:
Membership Survey
This is an initial opportunity for members to share their input. The survey will be
sent out on Thursday, August 7, via Westwood’s weekly e-blast and will be open
for responses until August 21. We hope to achieve full member participation, so
please watch for the survey link in this week’s email.
Westwood Town Hall
In early September, we will hold a Town Hall meeting to collect more member
feedback and share further details about the dining room project and timeline.
Focus Groups
Based on completed surveys, we will select a group of members at random to
participate in small focus groups about the dining room design concepts. The
focus groups will be held in late September or early October.
After completing the project’s design phase, we will move into procurement
from early January to late May. We plan to begin construction on June 1 and
complete the project by October 1. This will allow us to welcome members to
the upgraded dining facilities, where they can enjoy the new space throughout
the holiday season.
Westwood’s board and leadership teams will evaluate various financing options
for the project’s construction, including loans or other funding methods. We are
dedicated to transparently sharing our financial plans with members as we
progress with this exciting project.
